
In a thrilling culmination of linguistic prowess, Kwabena Frimpong Manso from Vine Christian School secured the top spot in the 2023 Junior Speller Competition for Basic1-4.
The event, which started with over 3000 spellers from various schools, saw 85 finalists vying for the coveted position.
At the final round, tension filled the air as Kojo Ocran of Unique Educational Complex stumbled over the word “Grief-stricken,” and Edison Awini, also from Vine Christian School, faltered with “Polysyllabic.”
In a triumphant moment, Kwabena Frimpong Manso clinched victory by correctly spelling “Hatemonger” and sealing the championship with the challenging word “uncharacteristically.”
Kwabena Frimpong Manso’s exceptional spelling skills earned him not only the prestigious title but also a substantial reward – a GHS5,000.00 cash prize and products worth GHS5,000.00. Kojo Ocran secured the second position, receiving GHC3,000 and valuable products, while Edison Awini claimed the third spot with GHC2,000 and sponsored products.
